Go to Nail Polish for Fall - OPI's Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees
Who doesn't pick their nail polish based on the name? Of course, when it comes to mani/pedi's every girl goes into the salon with an idea of the color, but what makes you decide on which version of red you'll ultimately select is ALWAYS the name. So, not only do I love my winter color, but I LOVE the name. OPI's, Suzy Skis in the Pyrenees is my go to color for November - February. It feels a little dark for the warmer months, so I've been in withdrawal lately. With my nails all lacquered up, I feel like suddenly jet-setting is a possibility, and I better have my apres ski boots ready! Just getting back from my mani/pedi, and I literally can't stop looking at my nails. Cloud 9. (Which I'm sure, somewhere out there, is also a name for a nail polish color, but for now it's just my state of mind.)

Who else rocks the trend? Chicsters like Eva Mendes, Rachel Bilson, and Rihanna

The Vintage Treasure Hunt
I think my little game of Mad Men catch up is getting to me. As soon as Kate Hudson uttered, "It's vintage, New York City... $35!" about her amazing white fur jacket, I couldn't get it out of my mind. A few more episodes of Mad Men later, and I found myself at my favorite West Village vintage shop, Star Struck Vintage Clothing. I got side tracked by the gorgeous gold pendants and baubles near the window, but after 20 minutes of trying on jewelry (and ultimately landing on one must-have gold plated bauble) I wandered back to their fur section. Almost immediately I spotted it. A beautiful white rabbit fur jacket. It's a little worn, but it was $45. Typically, I'm anti-fur, but I make an exception for Mongolian Lamb and Rabbit furs, because we eat their meat, so using their fur is simply using every bit of the animal.
For the completely ethical fashionista, faux fur is becoming more and more high quality. It's gone beyond the world of Wet Seal and H&M and into high fashion doors. In fact, one of my favorite designers, Adam Lippes, has put a heavy focus on finding luxe faux furs for his contemporary-meets-American-Sportswear colleciton. Last year I picked up a faux chinchilla vest that is to die for. With fur making a major statement on the Fall 2009 and 2010 runways, this trend isn't going away soon. Pick up a vest or scarf to get your feet wet, and embrace the warmth!
